ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE   The School Board elects an Admissions Committee. The Admission Committee will determine and recommend that a student in question should be accepted, academic or behavioral probation, or that the student NOT be accepted. The Admission Committee and the School Administration reserves the right to refuse admission based on the following:

  1. Failure of parents and/or students to support WPBJA’s Mission Statement and Student Conduct Agreement
  2. Behavioral record
  3. Academic reason
  4. Irregular attendance and/or excessive tardiness
  5. Special needs exceeding WPBJA’s services
  6. Non-compliance with counseling stipulation
  7. Previous debt to WPBJA or another school (until satisfactory financial arrangements have been made by parents or guardians and by providing arrangements in writing to the Admissions Committee)

PROBATIONARY ACCEPTANCE   In the event that an applicant student does not meet the admissions criteria for academic ability, a parent may submit a written request that their child be accepted on a probationary basis. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to place any student on academic, behavioral, or financial probation for a specified period of time. Students on academic probation will be required to receive supplemental tutoring in order to improve their academic performance. Tutoring will be acquired at parental expense. The probationary agreement will be negotiated on an individual basis. Students unable to meet their probationary obligations will be asked to withdraw.

WITHDRAWAL   Withdrawal of any student must be processed at the school office. Prior notification is needed to give time to secure interim or final grades from the teacher. Students must turn in books and be cleared through the teacher and principal. Records will not be released to another school until these steps are completed. Unless financially cleared, records will not be released.

YEARLY RE-ENROLLMENT   Re-enrollment dates are established annually. Completion of the Enrollment Application and payment of the annual registration fee will secure a position for the next school year. Re-enrollment will be guaranteed upon administrative approval, receipt of completed Enrollment Application, other enrollment forms, the payment of required fees, and fulfillment of any existing acceptance conditions. Previous accounts must be paid in full or appropriate arrangements completed before acceptance is finalized.
